Ann helps employers navigate the increasingly complex web of laws that govern the workplace by providing strategic advice and counsel; training managers and supervisors; guiding and conducting investigations; drafting policies, handbooks, and contracts; and defending against allegations of noncompliance in courts and administrative forums. She is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, has been repeatedly recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer (Thomson-Reuters), and is listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Employment Law – Management. Ann leverages her 25 years of experience representing employers to provide practical and cost-effective solutions to prevent and address workplace problems.
Ann’s practice covers the full range of matters that can arise from recruitment and hiring through termination of employment and beyond including classification as exempt or non-exempt and employee or independent contractor; performance management and discipline; reductions in force; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters; accommodation of disabilities; wage and hour issues; affirmative action planning and audits for federal government contractors; family and medical leave compliance; occupational safety and health matters, union issues and unfair labor practice charges; and covenants not to compete and other unfair competition litigation. Previously with Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., Ann joined the firm in 2006.
