Being Prepared. If you are a foreign national employee of a U.S. company traveling outside of the U.S., it is imperative that you prepare for your trip properly. 

Applying for a Visa

  • Original approval and certified copy of petition
  • Current letter confirming employment
  • Phone numbers: attorney, manager, and HR

General Tips

  • Dress and act professionally at all times
  • Remain calm and polite if questioned
  • Avoid travel near status expiration
  • Avoid travel near status extension
  • Avoid travel during change of status
  • Be aware of interior check points near the border

Traveling: Current Visa for Current Employer

  • Current visa or advance parole
  • Most recent I-94 (leaving U.S.)
  • Most recent U.S. pay stub (returning to U.S.)
